PeraPH GCash App: Install, Verify and Check Your Limits

The GCash app is the most searched wallet in the country, and the search is usually about money: how much can it hold, what does it cost, and does it still work with casinos. Short answers, all from GCash’s own Help Center, are in the table below. Installing it is the easy part; verification is where the peso limits change.
GCash app: install, verify, then read the limits
- Install. Use the phone’s app store and check the publisher. The publisher to look for is G-Xchange, Inc., the BSP-regulated company named in GCash’s Help Center footer.
- Create the account. Every new account starts as Basic. Adult Filipinos with a PH SIM use the standard GCash account.
- Verify. Profile, Verify Now, Get Started, then ID and selfie scans, then Submit.
- Read the limits. They changed effective 1 October 2026.

When a limit is reached, certain services stop until the 1st of the next month or until you upgrade. GCash can also update or pause limits to follow BSP rules.
Pesos explain why verification matters. A Basic user can only receive money, per GCash, so a plan to send money onward needs the Fully Verified profile first. The upgrade is free; the cost is the time to scan an ID and wait for the SMS.
What GCash removed for gaming in 2025
GCash states that, in compliance with BSP Memorandum M-2025-029, all licensed gaming top-up and withdrawal services were removed effective 16 August 2025. The memorandum ordered institutions to take down in-app gambling links within 48 hours and cited the surge in online gambling transactions. GCash adds that it is not a gaming app, so any casino app or page that shows a GCash button deserves suspicion.
Problem: you see a casino page claiming instant GCash deposits. Fix: ask where the payment really goes, and read the GCash casino checks page before sending a peso.
If you also use Maya, its published limits differ: Basic PHP 50K wallet balance monthly, Upgraded PHP 100K, Super Users PHP 500K, per its account limits page. Maya upgrading is free and not required, but it raises limits and enables bank transfers. Compare both before you move money between wallets.
Money costs worth knowing
- Bank transfers through InstaPay cost PHP 10 per transaction from 4 July 2026.
- Over-the-counter cash-in is free up to PHP 8,000 a month, then 2%. Cash in PHP 10,000 and the extra PHP 2,000 costs PHP 40.
- Debit and credit cards cannot be used to cash in.
- Up to five accounts can link to one profile, and limits are not added together.

Install from the phone's store
Search the store for GCash and read the publisher name before tapping install. Never use a file sent to you in a message.

Verify with one ID and a selfie
In the app go to Profile, then Verify Now, and follow the prompts: a 6-digit code, your details, a scan of one valid ID and a selfie scan. GCash says it sends an SMS update after 7 days.

Check the limit that applies to you
Open Profile, then Profile Limits, and read the wallet and transaction figures. Plan any peso amount inside them.
