A GCash cash in is the step before any other GCash question: putting pesos into your own wallet. Whatever you plan to do with the balance, the route you pick decides the fee, the speed and the cap, and GCash publishes all three in its Help Center. This page lists the methods as GCash prints them, with the figures as read on 30 October 2026.
GCash cash in: the eight methods and their fees
| # | Method | Fee or limit GCash states |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bank app by InstaPay | PHP 50,000 cap per transfer, lands right away, bank sets the fee |
| 2 | Bank app by PESONet | Above PHP 50,000 is allowed; arrives next banking day as a rule |
| 3 | Linked bank (InstaPay Cash In) | Fully Verified only; max PHP 50,000 per transaction; BPI PHP 15, UnionBank PHP 10 |
| 4 | Over-the-counter partners | Free up to PHP 8,000 per month; 2% above that |
| 5 | 7-Eleven | 1% cash-in fee |
| 6 | GCash Pera Outlet | Suggested 1%, set by the outlet; minimum PHP 100 |
| 7 | PayPal | 1% on every amount since 7 March 2026 |
| 8 | Payoneer and remittance | Free |
A worked example shows the difference. Adding PHP 10,000 over the counter in a month with nothing else cashed in costs PHP 0 for the first PHP 8,000 and 2% of the remaining PHP 2,000, which is PHP 40. The same PHP 10,000 through a linked UnionBank account costs PHP 10.
The bank-app route needs only the bank’s transfer menu. GCash lists the steps as Money Transfer, then Transfer to Other Banks via InstaPay or PESONet, then GCash as the bank, then your GCash number and the amount, followed by an OTP.
Limits and checks before you add money
Your profile sets how much the wallet can hold and receive. Per GCash’s limits article, updated for 1 October 2026, a Basic profile holds up to PHP 10,000 with PHP 5,000 incoming per month, while a Fully Verified profile holds up to PHP 1,000,000 with PHP 1,000,000 incoming per month. If you reach a limit, certain services stop until the 1st of the next month or until you upgrade.
- Verify first. Getting Fully Verified needs one valid government ID and a selfie scan, and GCash says it updates you by SMS after 7 days.
- Mind the first-weeks cap. GCash states the InstaPay daily incoming limit is PHP 10,000 within 2 weeks of the first cash in, then PHP 50,000.
- Skip cards. Debit and credit cards are not accepted for cash in.
- Watch for conflicting figures. A few GCash articles still print a PHP 500,000 limit; the limits article is the one to trust.
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Cash in fails at the limit | Check Profile Limits and wait for the 1st or upgrade |
| Paid the OTC fee twice in a month | Group cash-ins; the first PHP 8,000 a month is free |
| Money not showing after PESONet | It usually arrives the next banking day, so check then |
After the balance lands
A completed cash in only fills the wallet. It does not change what the money may be used for, and GCash states it is not a gaming app. If you are comparing routes, add the fee to the amount and see which total is smallest: for PHP 5,000, over-the-counter cash in is free inside the monthly PHP 8,000, while PayPal would cost PHP 50 at 1%.
Keep screenshots of the receipt until the balance matches. If a cash in does not appear, GCash’s Help Center is the place to raise it, with the reference number from the bank or outlet.
When the balance is in, the next question is getting it out; read the GCash withdrawal page for transfer fees. For casino payments see the casino deposits through GCash page, and new players should read the beginner casino tips. The online casino tips set hub covers the rest.
How to Get Started
-
Check your profile and limit
In the GCash app open Profile, then Profile Limits, and confirm your wallet limit is higher than the amount you plan to add.
-
Pick the cash-in route
Choose a bank app transfer, linked bank, partner outlet or other method from GCash's own list, noting the fee before you confirm.
-
Confirm and keep the receipt
Enter the amount, approve it with the OTP or at the counter, and keep the SMS or receipt until the balance shows.
